MOVED

Still in the same house but now talking about it on a new blog!

Head over to According to Boyle for my 2nd attempt at blogging!

Northern Ireland: Day 3

August 2, 2010

Sheesh! Can you tell it’s the summer and I’m busy traveling and doing stuff or what?

“What?” you say? No, I’ve been busy. But it’s no excuse! I’ve been such a blog slacker!

Never fear – I am here with Day 3 of my trip (now last month :\) to Northern Ireland!

Day 3 in a nutshell! We spent most of the day drinking and grilling with my Uncle Chris, his lovely wife, Michelle, and their 3 attractive children! My, they look an awful lot like me! 😉

Northern Ireland: Day 2

July 13, 2010

Monday, Monday!

As I had no comments on my last post, I’m going to continue with the photo-blog theme. Hover over a photo to get a little more of the story!

So that was the official Day 2, Monday, June 21st. Did I mention that every day in Ireland felt like at least 2? It was amazing. Time went so slow and the sun stayed out until about 10:30-11 each night! UH-mazing! 🙂 Stay tuned for Day 3 where we travel to Belfast!

Northern Ireland: Day 1

July 1, 2010

Day 1 is actually composed of 2 days (bonus!). We began our trek to Ireland on Saturday. Leaving early from Albany (where Johny Mac and Jazzy Jax call home) in a Yukon to JFK for the Irish red eye, meant every couple saved around $400. Now that’s a deal. We landed at 5AM Sunday beginning Day 2!

Boarding a plane is nothing special (unless its your first international flight, JB!) so we’ll move right along.

You know, I think the over 15,000 photos I took can explain most of our trip…let’s try a simple photo blog of the “first day” with minimal interjections. 🙂

If you didn’t catch on, you can hover your mouse over each photo to get a little better description as to what’s going on!

PP How do you like this format? Do you want the full length stories? Some of them can be quite long so I thought this would be a bit more entertaining. Let me know what you think!

Northern Ireland: The Cast

July 1, 2010

I figured I may have a reader or two (fingers crossed!) who isn’t family and thought, maybe I’ll introduce you to the cast of characters for my recent trip so you all know who I’m talking about when I’m talking about them. So let’s begin!

JOHNY MAC – aka Papa, aka Mi Da – Born and raised in Belfast, Norther Ireland, it is safe to say that Johny Mac was our tour guide/story teller/GPS system (b/c renting one was another 9 Euro a day and you know I’m cheap).

JAZZY JAX – aka Mama Jax, aka Lady J, aka Jackie – Step Mom extraordinaire, Jazzy Jax kept the troops in line, well fed and well bathed. (Which was not an easy feat when we get to Day 3).

CATE – aka My Big Sister – Acting out all over Ireland, Cate was a happy tourist visiting family and getting inked while making her 2nd trip to the Emerald Isle.

MIKE – aka Mikey, aka Cate’s Husband – The silliest BIL you can ask, Mikey is constant entertainment and full of random information you may, or may not, care to know. 🙂

JORDAN – aka Jordo, aka My Step Brother – Jordan makes his first ever appearance on TPP and in Ireland! Also a house of random information, you can count on Jordan to break the silence with a funny story.

CAITLYN – aka Jordan’s Girlfriend – Caitlyn is a long lost sister of mine and Cate’s. Just as fun and goofy as we are, she was adopted by my Dad while we strolled the streets of Newcastle.

Then, of course, there is us! And in case you don’t know yet, we are Jerry and Emily, entertainment/paparazzi/peace makers/fun revelers.

I can’t wait to get started on our journey!

I’m Back!

June 29, 2010

…and I have plenty of stories! I’ll be dishing them up by day (it’s easier that way – I took a butt load of photos)! I hope you stay tuned for all of the adventures and misadventures that my travel group had! 🙂

MIA

June 17, 2010

Needless to say to my 3 readers, I’ve been a little absent this week and it’s for 2 reasons. 2 very legit reasons.

1. I’m getting married. A lot of planning goes into getting married and we’ve just confirmed a date and a place. Check, check!

2. I’m going to Ireland! It’s my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary (they live in Belfast) so I’ll be traveling with family to visit them (and the rest of my Father’s family) and taking a holiday in Newcastle! *sigh* Sometimes it’s awesome to have family living overseas.

So, my apologies, but I have been quite happily busy and will be MIA for the next week. 🙂

Have a good one!

Red Wings

June 14, 2010

…and I’m not in Detroit!

One of the greatest things about Rochester is all of the minor league teams. So we went to a game!

It even threatened to rain (but didn’t) and I got a pretty sweet photo.

And then some of our friends showed up! Well, they were there already but across the field and we had some open seats so they headed our way. 🙂

They’re a little camera shy. :p

Gotta love a baseball game! How’d you spend your weekend?

The Dark Side

June 11, 2010

The left side of the front of our house happens to be shaded by a large and lovely dogwood tree. That sentence was only to explain why I named this post what I did.

Moving on.

Two weeks later, I finally got around to edging “the dark side” of the front garden. Just thought I’d share an updated photo!

I know it’s a quick post with *gasp* only 1 photo but I’ve been otherwise preoccupied this week. There have been MAJOR developments on the wedding front and I’m so excited to share them once we get them finalized!

Robotics

June 9, 2010

I recently saw a post on Young House Love about their new and improved toilet (more interesting than you would imagine!) and saw the HydroRight Dual-Flush Converter.

I like saving green both in and outside of my wallet so I looked it up and was jaw-droppingly surprised by the price. I have to say, I was hesitant to buy it – sounds too good to be true but the Petersiks have it. They must get a bazillion things to try and only post about the ones they like so I quickly decided that I trust their judgement and ordered mine.

And Jerry installed it. 🙂 B/c I’m spoiled.

There it is! In all its toilety goodness!

I have to admit, I do love that there is a button to push instead of a handle – it feels so futuristic!

Sometimes we have to push the single button twice (defeating the purpose of the thing) but then that’s only like flushing once still…so…whatever.

PP Get any new gadgets? As seen on TV items? Find any winners in the pack? Let me know!
