Left Behind

When Jerry and I moved into our home, it came with a few…gifts.

I’m feeling nostalgic tonight so I thought I’d go over some of the things still hanging around our house that no one seemed to want at the estate sale that happened before we started house hunting.

How do I know the estate sale happened?

Price tags.

On everything left.

Anywho…let’s get started!

If you’ve ever been to my house, you know this chair. It is in the same spot we found it almost 4 years ago. This is Eddie’s chair. If we got rid of it, I’m pretty sure he’d die of heart break.

Sadly, the curtains didn’t make the cut but the oven, stovetop, fridge and crucifix are all still hanging around. (There was a second crucifix on top of the fridge but does a house need 2? Does a house even need 1? We’ve just never bothered to move it). And I guess they really couldn’t sell the appliances, but gosh I wish they had tried…

Again, though these were heavy and flowery, the curtains got the ol’ heave ho. The very large mirror above the fireplace easily separated from it’s gaudy gold frame to reveal a beveled edge beauty. She still doesn’t have a permanent home.

Yes. This is our basement. Yes. That is a fully operational range. It is massive, it is mustard yellow, it is spotless. I love it. If it wasn’t mustard in color, it would be in my kitchen upstairs. (The drier and the ahem lingerie that was still in it were quickly sent packing).

This makes me think we need to discuss my basement soon…

PP Of course there were other things hanging around – plenty of other things – but these are the ones we use or see regularly. When you bought your house did they leave something behind that you still use? What was it and where is it now?
